Christchurch was hit by another earthquake

Residents ran out of buildings and their homes to escape when two earthquakes, eachmeasuring 5.2 and 6 on the Richter scale shook the city, south of New Zealandyesterday.

United States Geological Department reported the first earthquake occurred at middaywith a powerful earthquake followed an hour later.

According to the Office, were both earthquake centered at a depth of 9 km below the earth at a distance of 14 kilometers from the center.


At least 10 people were injured in the disaster, but no deaths reported so far.

Rescue Team continue search for victims buried under the rubble of some buildings andhouses.

"This disaster is very, very scary. We do not yet know how much damage can occur, butwe ask that life flowed like a powerful earthquake that struck earlier this year,"said Mayor Bob Parker.

He said the last earthquake caused landslides and flooding in addition to decisions on the supply of electricity and water to about 54 000 homes.

People are still trying to rebuild their lives after an earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale on 22 February and the massive destruction of the city and get 181 peoplewere killed.
