The Italian champions lock horns with Spanish counterparts on Wednesday in Champions League Group H game and Seedorf would like to see Messi in action.
"Lionel Messi is the best player in the world, played at a very high level and he is a joy to watch for everyone," Seedorf told Cope.
"However, Cristiano Ronaldo is not far behind him did so much for Real Madrid and is very important."
The Dutch then further noted that Milan is not one of the favorites to win the Champions League when he felt the other teams are sitting in pole position to lift the club awards leading European this season.
"Obviously we are not favorites, I'd say that Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United are the candidates to win the Champions League."
