Tottenham to sign Lewis Holtby in january transfer move
Schalke general manager Horst Heldt has revealed they are in talks with Tottenham over a move for Lewis Holtby in January.
The midfielder has agreed to move to White Hart Lane at the end of the season when his contract expires, but the north London club are looking to bring earlier, after Sandro was excluded for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
"We are in negotiations to move in this transfer window, but there is no agreement," Heldt told Sky Sports before the match against Schalke Hanover Friday night.
"Tottenham contact us because they like Lewis. We will decide in the coming days."
Heldt also rejected allegations that Holtby could try and make a transition from the Veltins Arena, and says he will continue to play for the first team.
He added: "Lewis is a good character, he'll give everything to the last day for the club."
